Fees

Funding is available to help you train to teach. You may be eligible for a student loan to cover the cost of your tuition fees or to help with your living costs.

You can still apply for a tuition fee loan and a maintenance loan if you also get a teaching bursary or scholarship or if you’ve previously applied for and received a student loan

You’ll only have to make loan repayments once you’re earning.

You do not need to wait until you have a confirmed offer for a teacher training course to apply for student funding.

Tax free bursaries are available for some subjects. Bursaries are available for those with a 1st, 2:1, 2;2 PhD or Masters.

Scholarships are awarded by independent organisations which set their own assessment requirements.

Scholarships offer more than just financial benefits. For example, they can provide professional body membership, subject-specific support, mentoring, events and classroom resources.

If you are awarded a Scholarship you cannot be awarded a bursary.
